The Oklahoma rules in full, with citations

The board writes its own name as the Oklahoma State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Surveyors; OAC Title 245 and 59 O.S. § 475.3 still read "Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors". Chapter 55:10 was reorganised effective September 15, 2025: the former 55:10-11-9 (Authorized use of seal), 55:10-11-10 (Required use of seal, signature and date), 55:10-11-11, 55:10-11-12 and 55:10-11-13 were revoked and their substance folded into 55:10-11-8, now titled "Architect, landscape architect, and licensed interior designer seal". The cited source is the board's posted copy of Chapter 10 marked "Effective September 15, 2025", which also carries the board's proposed 2026 amendments in redline; the seal rule is not among the proposed changes. The board's own seal handout, "2024 Seal Requirements - All Professions", quotes the same design language under the older lettering (a)-(c). The board brands itself online as the Oklahoma Board of Architects, Landscape Architects, Licensed Interior Designers; the name used in Title 55 is the Board of Governors of the Architects, Landscape Architects and Licensed Interior Designers of Oklahoma.

  • An Architect, Landscape Architect, Licensed Interior Designer or Entity shall retain a copy of all technical submissions produced for a minimum of ten (10) years following the date of preparation. (Okla. Admin. Code § 55:10-11-8(g))
  • No Licensee shall affix or attempt to affix the seal, signature or dates to sketches, drawings, specifications or other documents developed by unlicensed persons that are not employees in their offices or professional consultants, and no Licensee shall affix the seal, signature or date to documents unless they were developed and prepared under the Licensee's Responsible Control, the Licensee had full authority to determine their development, and the Licensee has reviewed and adopted, in whole or in part, the landscape architectural portions and has either coordinated their preparation or integrated them into the work. FAQ

Oklahoma Landscape Architect Seal FAQs

Frequently asked questions about Oklahoma digital landscape architect stamps and seals.

How do I obtain a digital Oklahoma landscape architect seal or stamp?

Once you are licensed in Oklahoma, you can generate your seal here and download it immediately. Fill in the form and position your signature if you want one. The layout follows Okla. Admin. Code § 55:10-11-8, which is the provision the Board of Governors of the Architects, Landscape Architects and Licensed Interior Designers of Oklahoma will measure the seal against.

What are the requirements for the Oklahoma landscape architect stamp or seal?

Oklahoma’s landscape architect seal rule is Okla. Admin. Code § 55:10-11-8, administered by the Board of Governors of the Architects, Landscape Architects and Licensed Interior Designers of Oklahoma, a different body from the engineering board. The seal must carry “Licensed Landscape Architect”, and no diameter is prescribed. OAC 55:10-11-8(a)(2) requires only that the landscape architect's seal "be a circle" containing the name, Oklahoma license number and the words "Licensed Landscape Architect, State of Oklahoma"; no dimension appears anywhere in the chapter's seal rule.

A further 10 requirements, each tied to the subsection that imposes it, are itemised in the Oklahoma requirements section on this page.

What size does an Oklahoma landscape architect seal have to be?

Okla. Admin. Code § 55:10-11-8 governs the Oklahoma landscape architect’s seal but does not prescribe a diameter. Sizes quoted for Oklahoma elsewhere generally come from stamp suppliers’ catalogues rather than from the rule. What the rule does require is that your name and license number stay clearly legible.

Where does the date go on an Oklahoma landscape architect's seal?

Across the seal. Section 55:10-11-8(c) requires the handwritten or electronically generated date to be affixed across the seal rather than typed beside it. (Okla. Admin. Code § 55:10-11-8(c))

Is there an Oklahoma diameter to match?

No. The rule requires a circle containing the name, license number and legend and states no dimension, so a vendor's stated diameter is the vendor's, not the board's. (Okla. Admin. Code § 55:10-11-8(a)(2))
