The Georgia rules in full, with citations

The rule specifies both circles: the outer at 1½ inches and the inner at 1 inch. The Board furnishes the seal design at licensure. Rule 50-9-.07 was adopted 9-21-2010, effective 10-11-2010, under authority of O.C.G.A. §§ 43-1-4, 43-1-19, 43-4-9, 43-4-14 and 43-4-33. Georgia registered interior designers are certified under Chapter 43-4 (the architects' chapter, Article 2), but the interior designer's seal rule is chapter 50-9, distinct from the architect's sealing rule at 50-2A-.01.

FAQ

Georgia Interior Designer Seal FAQs

Frequently asked questions about Georgia digital interior designer stamps and seals.

How do I obtain a digital Georgia interior designer seal or stamp?

Once you are licensed in Georgia, you can generate your seal here and download it immediately. Fill in the form and position your signature if you want one. The layout follows Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. r. 50-9-.07, which is the provision the Georgia State Board of Architects and Interior Designers will measure the seal against.

What are the requirements for the Georgia interior designer stamp or seal?

Georgia’s interior designer stamp rule is Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. r. 50-9-.07, administered by the Georgia State Board of Architects and Interior Designers, a different body from the engineering board. The seal must carry “GEORGIA REGISTERED INTERIOR DESIGNER - STATE OF GEORGIA”, and a square, not a circle: "It shall be 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" inches square, with a 1/16" thick border of and a corner radius of 1/4"," and the rule adds that "The SEAL shall comply in all respects with the sample below, including size and format."

A further 8 requirements, each tied to the subsection that imposes it, are itemised in the Georgia requirements section on this page.

What size does a Georgia interior designer stamp have to be?

A square, not a circle: "It shall be 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" inches square, with a 1/16" thick border of and a corner radius of 1/4"," and the rule adds that "The SEAL shall comply in all respects with the sample below, including size and format." This is set by Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. r. 50-9-.07(8).

Is the Georgia registered interior designer's seal a circle?

No. Rule 50-9-.07(8) prescribes a 1 3/4 inch square with a 1/16" border and 1/4" corner radius, and requires the seal to comply with the sample "in all respects, including size and format." (Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. r. 50-9-.07(8))

Can the seal be applied electronically for a building permit set?

An electronically applied seal is permitted, but for permit documents the signature itself must be original in permanent blue ink; a designer wishing to restrict electronic access to the seal may instead use the substitute notation set out in paragraph (2). (Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. r. 50-9-.07(1), (2))

Can a firm's name go on the seal?

No. "A SEAL containing a firm name or a corporate name is not acceptable under this paragraph." (Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. r. 50-9-.07(5))
