Georgia Interior Designer seal requirements: proper sizing, signing and sealing of documents

As of

Georgia registers interior designers through the Georgia State Board of Architects and Interior Designers, and Rule 50-9-.07 governs the registrant's seal. The seal must carry the designer's name, certificate number and the words GEORGIA REGISTERED INTERIOR DESIGNER - STATE OF GEORGIA, and it is a square: 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" with a 1/16" border and 1/4" corner radius, in Arial and Arial Black 7 pt as the rule specifies. For permit submittals the signature must be original in permanent blue ink with the issue date on the document.

The rule specifies both circles: the outer at 1½ inches and the inner at 1 inch. The Board furnishes the seal design at licensure. Rule 50-9-.07 was adopted 9-21-2010, effective 10-11-2010, under authority of O.C.G.A. §§ 43-1-4, 43-1-19, 43-4-9, 43-4-14 and 43-4-33. Georgia registered interior designers are certified under Chapter 43-4 (the architects' chapter, Article 2), but the interior designer's seal rule is chapter 50-9, distinct from the architect's sealing rule at 50-2A-.01.
