The Arkansas rules in full, with citations

The Board's rules were recodified into the Code of Arkansas Rules of 2024, which is what renumbered the seal rule out of the Board's pre-2024 article numbering into 17 CAR § 285-602. The substance is unchanged from the text effective June 1, 2022. Seals previously acquired in compliance with then current rules need not be changed. The seal design is set by Board rule rather than statute: Ark. Code § 17-35-304(a)(1) simply requires a seal "as prescribed by" the Board, and Section XIII.A of the Administrative Rules effective February 7, 2022 — the version the Board currently links from its Laws & Rules page — supplies the wording and the dimensions.

FAQ

Arkansas Interior Designer Seal FAQs

Frequently asked questions about Arkansas digital interior designer stamps and seals.

How do I obtain a digital Arkansas interior designer seal or stamp?

Once you are licensed in Arkansas, you can generate your seal here and download it immediately. Fill in the form and position your signature if you want one. The layout follows Ark. Code § 17-35-304; ASBALAID Administrative Rules, Section XIII.A, which is the provision the Arkansas State Board of Architects, Landscape Architects, and Interior Designers will measure the seal against.

What are the requirements for the Arkansas interior designer stamp or seal?

Arkansas interior designer stamp rule is Ark. Code § 17-35-304; ASBALAID Administrative Rules, Section XIII.A, administered by the Arkansas State Board of Architects, Landscape Architects, and Interior Designers, a different body from the engineering board. The seal must carry “Registered Interior Designer”, and 1.5 inches. The rule specifies two concentric circles 1.5" and 1" in diameter, the outer being the overall size of the seal.

A further 12 requirements, each tied to the subsection that imposes it, are itemised in the Arkansas requirements section on this page.

What size does an Arkansas interior designer stamp have to be?

1.5 inches. The rule specifies two concentric circles 1.5" and 1" in diameter, the outer being the overall size of the seal. This is set by ASBALAID Administrative Rules, Section XIII.A.1.a.

Is the sealed signature and date enough on Arkansas interior design contract documents?

No. Section XIII.A.2.d and Ark. Code § 17-35-304(c) require every registered interior designer contract document to carry a further statement that it is not an architectural or engineering drawing, specification or design and is not to be used for constructing load-bearing columns, framing, walls or structures, or for issuing any building permit. (ASBALAID Administrative Rules, Section XIII.A.2.d; Ark. Code § 17-35-304(c))

Can the interior designer's seal be the same shape as the architect's or landscape architect's?

No. Ark. Code § 17-35-304(g) requires the shape and design of the interior designer's seal to be different from the seals of architects, engineers, or landscape architects — which is why the Board's rule gives interior designers their own 1.5"/1" concentric-circle design rather than reusing the architect's. (Ark. Code § 17-35-304(g))
