Diameter

Exactly one and three-quarters inches (1 3/4 inches) in diameter. The rule prescribes a single diameter, not a range.

Expiration date

The rule prescribes a closed design — "State of Missouri", the legend, the licensee's name and the number prefixed PE. No date appears on the seal.(20 CSR 2030-3.060(1))

Signature date

The date is the date the document was originally sealed, affixed with the signature at the minimum to the outside of each sheet of final technical submissions.(20 CSR 2030-3.060(3); see also (5) and (7))

City on seal

The rule does not require a city on the seal.(20 CSR 2030-3.060(1))

• The seal consists of two concentric circles. Between them, in roman capital letters, "State of Missouri" appears on the upper part and "Professional Engineer" on the lower part.(20 CSR 2030-3.060(1))
• Within the inner circle go the name of the licensee and the license number preceded by the roman capital letters PE.(20 CSR 2030-3.060(1))
• The seal may be an embossing seal, a rubber stamp, or a computer-generated image, identical in size, design and content to the design the rule prescribes.(20 CSR 2030-3.060(2))
• In addition to the seal, the licensee affixes a signature and the date the document was originally sealed, at the minimum to the outside of each sheet in a set of all final technical submissions.(20 CSR 2030-3.060(3))
• For electronic documents transmitted in their native file format, the digital signature must be unique to and under the sole control of the person using it, capable of verification, and linked so that it is invalidated if any data on the document is altered. For documents transmitted as pdf or a similar format that is not easily altered, a scanned signature is acceptable if it accurately depicts the licensee's actual signature.(20 CSR 2030-3.060(3)(B) and (3)(C))
• In lieu of signing, sealing and dating each page, the licensee may seal, sign and date the title page, an index page, or a seals page on bound multiple-page documents not considered drawings, provided the signed page clearly identifies all of the other pages comprising the bound volume.(20 CSR 2030-3.060(5))
• Technical submissions must be signed, sealed and dated unless clearly designated preliminary or incomplete, in which case the disclaimer "The information on this document is preliminary or incomplete, not to be used for construction, recording purposes, or implementation" is placed in an obvious location so that it is readily found, easily read, and not obscured by other markings.(20 CSR 2030-3.060(7))
• Signing and sealing technical submissions not prepared by the licensee or under the licensee's immediate personal supervision is prohibited.(20 CSR 2030-3.060(9))
