Delaware PE seal requirements: size, wording, and the rule that sets them
As of
Delaware licenses engineers through the Delaware Association of Professional Engineers rather than a state board, and the seal provision is 24 Del. C. § 2829. It requires three things and nothing more: the licensee's name, the license number, and the legend "professional engineer". The design is left to the Council of the Association, which has published no specification, so no diameter applies and "State of Delaware" is not part of the engineer's seal. Architects and land surveyors answer to two different boards, and both of those seals do carry the state name.
The 1½-to-1¾-inch range widely quoted for Delaware engineers appears in no Delaware authority — Chapter 28 states no dimension and the Council publishes no seal specification. The section often cited for the seal, § 2823, is "Grounds for discipline; appeals".

- A licensee may use a seal, signature and date created or transmitted electronically. The Act imposes no authentication criteria on the electronic seal.(24 Del. C. § 2829(b)(2))
- All final drawings, specifications and documents issued or filed for public record shall be dated and bear the signature and seal of the licensee who prepared or approved them.(24 Del. C. § 2830(a))

Does a new Delaware engineer have to file proof of their seal?▾
A new licensee must submit proof of the Delaware seal to the Council office within 6 months of the application approval date. Failing to do so puts the licensee in delinquent status. (24 Del. C. § 2829(a))
Where does the date go on sealed original tracings in Delaware?▾
Where original tracings are sealed or stamped, the date of sealing or stamping must appear under the signature. (24 Del. C. § 2830(b))
