"Each licensed architect and landscape architect's seal shall be no less than 1½" and no more than 2" in diameter."

Expiration date

Chapter 9 § 2(a) lists the required contents exhaustively — name, license number, the word "Date:" and the legend — and no expiration or renewal date appears among them or in the illustrated designs.(Board Rules ch. 9, § 2(a))

Signature date

The seal itself must carry the word "Date:" under § 2(a), and § 3(e) provides that "[n]o seal shall be valid unless signed across the face of the seal with the licensee's name and the date on which the material was signed."(Board Rules ch. 9, § 2(a), § 3(e))

City on seal

Chapter 9 § 2(a) requires the name, license number, the word "Date:" and the legend on the seal; no city, address or place of business is called for. Section 3(c) does require the sealed document — not the seal — to carry the project name and either its address or location.(Board Rules ch. 9, § 2(a))

• "Each licensed architect and landscape architect's seal shall be no less than 1½" and no more than 2" in diameter. It shall contain the name of the licensed architect or landscape architect; his or her license number, the word "Date:", and the words "LICENSED ARCHITECT-STATE OF WYOMING" or "LICENSED LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT-STATE OF WYOMING" as appropriate. This seal shall approximate the format shown below:" — the illustrated current format is a circular seal with a double outer ring, "LICENSED LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT" arched across the top and "STATE OF WYOMING" arched across the bottom, and on the inner field the bucking horse device above the licensee's name, "(Number)", and a "Date:" rule line.(Board Rules ch. 9, § 2(a))
• "The seal design adopted by the Board in the Rules and Regulations dated December 19, 2011, as it appears below, will be accepted for persons licensed prior to the effective date of these rules."(Board Rules ch. 9, § 2(a)(i))
• "The seal design adopted by the Board in the Rules and Regulations dated April 27, 2001, as it appears below, will be accepted for persons licensed prior to the effective date of these rules."(Board Rules ch. 9, § 2(a)(ii))

• "Licensees are responsible for providing adequate security over their seal and signature wherever it appears, regardless of whether the seal and signature is produced electronically or by other means."(Board Rules ch. 9, § 3(g))
• "After-the-fact ratification by the sealing of documents, when the underlying work was not performed by or under the responsible charge and supervision of the licensee, is prohibited unless a thorough technical review is done."(Board Rules ch. 9, § 4)
• "Design documents prepared for projects that are designed by other licensees may be used for the construction of the project in Wyoming if reviewed, revised as appropriate, and sealed by a licensee under the following circumstances:" — the original licensee's written consent (or, where consent cannot reasonably be obtained, a written explanation to the project owner), revisions for site and local climate considerations, review and revision for zoning and code compliance, the adapting licensee's acceptance of full responsibility, and the seal of a coordinating professional if required.(Board Rules ch. 9, § 5(a))
• "An architect or landscape architect shall affix his seal to all documents, plans or designs he provides."(Wyo. Stat. § 33-4-116)
• The board may discipline a licensee for "[a]ffixing, or permitting to be affixed, a seal upon a document which the architect or landscape architect was not responsible for preparing."(Wyo. Stat. § 33-4-115(a)(v))
