Ohio PE seal requirements: size, wording, and the rule that sets them
As of
Ohio requires the legend "Registered Professional Engineer" — not "Professional Engineer", and not "P.E." — on a seal of the design authorized by the Board, under OAC 4733-23-01. The rule prescribes no diameter at all. A computer-generated seal with an electronic signature is permitted, provided the signature is unique to you, capable of verification, under your sole control, and linked to the document so that any later change invalidates it.
Ohio's rule prescribes the legend but not a diameter. Sizes quoted around the web for Ohio come from stamp vendors' catalogues, not from the Administrative Code.

Is there a required diameter for an Ohio PE seal?▾
The rule sets no diameter. The 1¾ inches commonly quoted for Ohio comes from stamp suppliers' catalogues rather than the Administrative Code. (OAC 4733-23-01)
Does an Ohio PE seal say "Professional Engineer" or "Registered Professional Engineer"?▾
"Professional Engineer" on its own is not the Ohio legend. The word "Registered" is part of it. (OAC 4733-23-01)
