Michigan Land Surveyor seal requirements: size, wording, and the rule that sets them

Land surveyors in Michigan seal under Mich. Admin. Code R 339.17301 (Professional surveyor seal), administered by the Michigan Board of Professional Surveyors. The seal reads “Licensed Professional Surveyor”. The rule does not prescribe a diameter; it requires a design substantially equivalent to Figure 301.
The rule fixes the wording and the layout by reference to Figure 32 but says nothing about diameter.

Does a Michigan land surveyor's seal say "Land Surveyor"?▾
Not on a current seal. Michigan licenses professional surveyors, and R 339.17301(1) requires the seal to include the licensee's name and full license number as shown on the state-issued professional surveyor license and to indicate "State of Michigan" and "Licensed Professional Surveyor" in the legend surrounding the seal, in a design substantially equivalent to Figure 301. The rules sit in the Professional Surveyors general rules and the board is the Board of Professional Surveyors. Can a newly made Michigan surveyor seal read "Registered Land Surveyor"?▾
No. MCL 339.2007(1) provides that a seal that exists on September 1, 1992 and bears the legend "registered land surveyor" or "licensed land surveyor" is acceptable where a seal is required under state law — a saving clause for one particular already-existing seal, not a choice of legends, and nothing produced today can qualify. A seal made now must carry the current wording under R 339.17301(1): the licensee's name and full license number as shown on the state-issued professional surveyor license, with "State of Michigan" and "Licensed Professional Surveyor" in the legend surrounding it. Is there a required size for a Michigan land surveyor's seal?▾

Does a Michigan land surveyor have to date a sealed survey?▾
No provision requires it. MCL 339.2007(2) requires the licensee to apply the seal and signature to a plan, specification, plat or report issued by the licensee and filed with a public authority, and MCL 339.2008(1) requires the seal of the person in responsible charge on documents prepared by a licensee and required to be submitted to a governmental agency for approval or record.
