Minnesota Land Surveyor seal requirements: size, wording, and the rule that sets them

R. 1800.4300 (Seal), administered by the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design. The seal reads “Licensed Land Surveyor”. Neither the rule nor the statute prescribes a diameter.
Minn. Stat. § 326.221 does not exist, and Minnesota Rules chapter 1805 is not this Board's chapter. Both are widely cited for the Minnesota seal; the Board's chapter is 1800, and the operative parts are 1800.4300 and 1800.4200.

What legend goes on a Minnesota land surveyor's seal?▾
"Licensed land surveyor", with nothing beyond the name alongside it. Minn. Stat. § 326.12, subd. 2 and Minn. R. 1800.4300 both describe the seal as bearing the licensee's name and the legend, and both print that legend as "licensed land surveyor". Minnesota does not use "professional land surveyor" or "professional surveyor" here. The seal is also optional: the rule says each person may obtain one and that the stamped seal may be used on documents in addition to the signed and dated certification required under part 1800.4200. (Minn. Stat. § 326.12, subd. 2; Minn. R. 1800.4300)
What wording must a Minnesota land surveyor's certification use?▾
The surveyor's sentence is not the one the other professions use. Minn. R. 1800.4200, subp. 4 prescribes: "I hereby certify that this survey, plan, or report was prepared by me or under my direct supervision and that I am a duly Licensed Land Surveyor under the laws of the state of Minnesota," with Signature, Typed or Printed Name, Date and Lic. No. The architect's and engineer's versions in the same subpart open "this plan, specification, or report". Taking an engineer's block and swapping the title leaves the first clause wrong. (Minn. Does a Minnesota land surveyor certify a legal description?▾
Yes — the rule names it as a category of its own. Minn. R. 1800.4200, subp. 4a lists the documents that must be signed and certified: the certification page of each report; legal descriptions prepared by a land surveyor; and other documents that require a signature according to Minn. Stat. § 326.12, subd. 3. A metes-and-bounds description is not carried along by the plat it accompanies; it takes the certification and signature in its own right. (Minn. Does a Minnesota land surveyor certify every sheet of a plat?▾
No — plats are treated as bound documents, not as drawing sets. Minn. R. 1800.4200, subp. 3 requires the certification for bound specifications, plats, reports or other documents on the title sheet, first sheets, or certification page, while requiring it on each sheet of a set of plans or drawings. Minn. Stat. § 326.12, subd. 3 puts the same division in statute: all pages of plans and drawings, but only the first page of plats, reports and other documents. (Minn. R. 1800.4200, subp. 3; Minn.
