Arizona Land Surveyor seal requirements: size, wording, and the rule that sets them

Land surveyors in Arizona seal under A.A.C. R4-30-303 (Securing Seals) and Appendix A (Sample Seals), administered by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration. The seal reads “Registered Land Surveyor”. 1 1/2 inches in diameter, the same seal specification as every other registrant.
R4-30-304 is often cited as the Arizona seal rule; it governs where the seal goes on documents. What the seal must contain, and its size, are in R4-30-303 and Appendix A. Both were last amended by final rulemaking at 24 A.A.R. 1785, effective August 5, 2018.

Does an Arizona land surveyor's seal say "Professional Land Surveyor"?▾
No. The phrase the rule assigns to the upper annular space is "Registered Land Surveyor" — Arizona never took the "Professional Land Surveyor" wording most states use on the seal. Nothing is appended to it either: an engineer must name the branch of engineering after the profession phrase, but the surveyor's phrase stands alone. (A.A.C. R4-30-303(A)(1))
Which sheets of an Arizona survey carry the land surveyor's seal?▾
Every map sheet, and the master sheets on top of that. The rule requires a permanently legible imprint of the seal and the signature on each sheet of drawings or maps, and again on each of the master sheets when they are reproduced into a single set of finished drawings or maps. The cover-or-index shortcut in the same rule is written for specifications, addenda, bound details and reports, not for maps. (A.A.C. R4-30-304(A)(1)-(2))
Is there an official Arizona sample seal for land surveyors?▾
There is not, even though the rule requires a seal "identical in style, size, and appearance to the sample shown in Appendix A". Appendix A prints its samples for the Registered Professional Engineer, the Registered Geologist, the Registered Landscape Architect and the Registered Assayer, and none for a land surveyor. What it does supply is the geometry — a 1 1/2" ± 1/16" outer circle and a 1 1/8" ± 1/16" inner circle — the "CERTIFICATE NO." and "Date Signed" furniture, the "ARIZONA, U.S.A." inscription, and the instruction "Sign your name across lower portion of the seal.
