New Hampshire Architect seal requirements: size, wording, and the rule that sets them

The seal reads “Licensed Architect”. Two concentric circles: the outer circle 1-9/16 inches in diameter, the inner circle 15/16 of an inch.
The Joint Board of Licensure and Certification no longer exists. RSA 310-A:1, the section that created it, was repealed by 2023, 235:27, effective July 15, 2023, and separate boards for professional engineers, architects, land surveyors, natural scientists and foresters now sit under the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification. Eng 308.02 was last amended June 25, 2024.

Does a New Hampshire architect seal say "State of New Hampshire"?▾
It says "The State of New Hampshire," with the definite article, and it goes at the bottom. Arch 306.02(b) puts "Licensed Architect" at the top of the space between the two circles and "The State of New Hampshire" at the bottom. That is the reverse of the engineer's layout in the same rule series, where "State of New Hampshire" is on top and "Professional Engineer" below, and the architect's version carries a word the engineer's does not. What goes inside the inner circle of a New Hampshire architect seal?▾
The full name of the licensee and the license number, written horizontally, and nothing else. The engineer's seal additionally carries the word "Licensed" at the bottom of its inner circle, because Eng 308.02(b) splits the statutory legend "Licensed Professional Engineer" across the two rings. The architect's legend is complete in the outer ring, so "Licensed" is not repeated inside, and Arch 306.02(b) admits no date, no state and no expiration there. (N.H. Code Admin. R. Is there a permitted size range for a New Hampshire architect seal?▾
There is no range. Arch 306.02(b) states no minimum and no maximum and instead fixes both circles as exact figures: the outer circle 1-9/16 inches in diameter and the inner circle 15/16 of an inch. Does New Hampshire allow an electronic or digital architect seal?▾
Electronic and digital seals are not addressed for architects. Arch 306.02(a) requires the licensee to acquire an impression type seal or rubber stamp of the design specified by the section, and no provision of the Arch rules or of RSA 310-A mentions an electronic, digital, scanned or computer-generated architect seal or signature. Which board and rule govern the New Hampshire architect's seal?▾
Arch 306.02 — and the number is recent. The rule's own source note records that it was substituted by document #14553 effective June 2, 2026 and that it was "formerly Arch 306.03," so the seal section carried a different number until then and older citations point at the previous numbering. The administering body has moved too: RSA 310-A:1, which created the Joint Board of Licensure and Certification, was repealed by 2023, 235:27, effective July 15, 2023, and a separate Board of Architects now sits under the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification.
