NAC 625.610 was not touched by the board's 2024-2025 rulemaking, LCB File R007-24, which amended the professional land surveyor standards of practice at NAC 625.655 and 625.666. The 1 7/8 inch figure often attached to Nevada is the architect seal under NAC 623.750, which is a different board.

  • The statute requires a stamp of the design authorized by the Board, bearing the licensee's name and license number and the legend "Professional Engineer" followed by the discipline for which the licensee is qualified. (NRS 625.383(1))
  • The image made by the stamp must be opaque and permanent, must state the name of the licensee, must contain the license number, must state the particular discipline in which the licensee is licensed, and may state the expiration date of the license. (NAC 625.610(3))
  • A person licensed in more than one discipline of engineering uses a separate stamp for each discipline, except that a person licensed in civil engineering and structural engineering may use a single stamp for both. (NAC 625.610(2))
  • The licensee validates the stamp by adding a legible signature across or adjacent to the face of the image, together with the date of stamping and, if the stamp does not carry it, the date of expiration. The name, discipline and license number must remain legible. (NAC 625.610(4))
  • Surveying maps and records, and engineering plans, specifications, reports and other documents submitted to obtain permits, released for construction, or issued as formal or final documents must bear the signature, the stamp, the date of signing, and the expiration date of the license. (NAC 625.610(8))
  • An electronically prepared seal and digital signature may be applied to an electronically submitted document only if secure encryption methods are in place that identify the licensee and track changes made after the document is submitted, released or issued, and the licensee believes adequate protections are in place to prevent fraud or misuse. (NAC 625.610(10))
  • As-built and record plans, construction-progress observation reports, and cost estimates are not required to be stamped. (NAC 625.610(12))

Is there a minimum diameter for a Nevada engineer stamp?
