Hawaii Landscape Architect seal requirements: proper sizing, signing and sealing of documents
As of
Hawaii licenses landscape architects through the Board of Professional Engineers, Architects, Surveyors, and Landscape Architects, and its rule prescribes the seal precisely: two circles, a 1-1/8" circle inside a 1-1/2" circle, with the licensee's name and "Hawaii, U.S.A." in the annular space and "Licensed Professional Landscape Architect" with the license number in the centre. Plans, specifications, maps, reports and every sheet of a set of design drawings filed with public officials must be stamped and authenticated. The authentication block below the seal must read "THIS WORK WAS PREPARED BY ME OR UNDER MY SUPERVISION", be signed, and state the expiration date of the license.

One board licenses engineers, architects, land surveyors and landscape architects, and HAR § 16-115-8 gives them all the same seal geometry. Only the center legend changes; a landscape architect's seal reads "Licensed Professional Landscape Architect". Chapter 16-115 was amended and compiled effective 09/22/2023; §§ 16-115-8 and 16-115-9 were both amended in that compilation. One board covers engineers, architects, land surveyors and landscape architects, and §§ 16-115-8 and 16-115-9 are shared across all four — only the centre-space title differs.
