  • The seal bears the licensee's name, licensure number, and the legend "licensed professional engineer". (Ala. Code § 34-11-7(c))

  • Rubber stamps and computer generated seals identical in size, design and content with the approved seals may be used. (330-X-11-.02(4))
  • Seals obtained before this rule was adopted, in conformance with prior Board rules, are acceptable. (330-X-11-.02(3))
  • Each design sheet must be signed, sealed, and dated by the licensee who prepared it or under whose responsible charge it was prepared. (330-X-11-.03(3)(a))
  • A computer generated seal or facsimile is acceptable only when the signature and the date the document was signed are on or adjacent to it. Any variation must be submitted to and approved by the Board. (330-X-11-.03(8))
  • The seal and signature go on all original copy, tracings, or other reproducible documents so that both reproduce when copies are made. (330-X-11-.03(10))

Can an Alabama PE seal just say "Professional Engineer"?

"Professional Engineer" on its own is not the legend, and neither is "P.E." The statute requires "licensed professional engineer". (Ala. Code § 34-11-7(c))
