Arizona Architect seal requirements: size, wording, and the rule that sets them

Architects in Arizona seal under A.A.C. R4-30-303 (Securing Seals) and Appendix A (Sample Seals), administered by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration. The seal reads “Registered Architect”. 1 1/2 inches in diameter, the same seal specification as every other registrant.
R4-30-304 is often cited as the Arizona seal rule; it governs where the seal goes on documents. What the seal must contain, and its size, are in R4-30-303 and Appendix A. Both were last amended by final rulemaking at 24 A.A.R. 1785, effective August 5, 2018.

Does an Arizona architect's seal say "Registered Professional Architect"?▾
No. The rule lists the exact phrase each registrant puts in the upper annular space, and the architect's is the bare "Registered Architect". Engineers, geologists and landscape architects all take "Registered Professional" wording in that same list; architects and land surveyors are the two that do not. (A.A.C. R4-30-303(A)(1))
Is there an official Arizona sample seal for architects?▾
There is not, even though the rule requires a seal "identical in style, size, and appearance to the sample shown in Appendix A". Appendix A prints its samples for the Registered Professional Engineer (Civil), the Registered Geologist, the Registered Landscape Architect and the Registered Assayer, and none for an architect. An architect takes the geometry, the "CERTIFICATE NO." and "Date Signed" furniture and the "ARIZONA, U.S.A." inscription from the printed samples and substitutes the architect's phrase. (A.A.C. Where does an Arizona architect sign in relation to the seal?▾
On it, not beside it. Appendix A instructs: "Sign your name across lower portion of the seal. Do not cover your name or registration number with your signature." The use rule says the same thing from the other side — an original document needs an original signature that does not obscure either the registrant's printed name or registration number — so the design has to leave the lower portion clear enough to sign through.
